About Ms. Lohitsa
Hello 3rd Grade Families!
My name is Ms. Lohitsa and I'll be your science and engineering teacher this year. I am very excited to be joining you at the start of my 12th year of teaching. During the course of my career I have had the pleasure of working as a 3rd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, middle school science teacher as well as a Kindergarten through 6th grade science and engineering specialist. The majority of my career until this point has been spent educating the children of Chicago through Chicago Public Schools.
Science and engineering is truly my passion! When I am not teaching my young scientists I am working with students in robotics, leading prefessional development and presenting at conferences hosted by NSTA, ISTA and NISE. I just recently finished a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State Univeristy. I am looking to finish a second Master of Arts in Educational Administration. I am also interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Technology focusing on failure as a learning mode through gamification.
I am thrilled to be here at LAB and am greatly looking forward to getting to know each and every one of my young scientists as well as their families. We have an exciting, fun filled and challenging year ahead of us that will be filled with new experiences and meaningful learning!
Best,
Ms. Lohitsa
Upcoming Events:
LS Parent Teacher Conferences- 10.09.17 & 10.20.17
@ 8:30 am
Would you like an opportunity to speak with me about how your child is doing in class? We have two days for parent teacher conferences. This is a great time to see your child's notebook, talk about strategies I am using to support your student or share with me important information about your child. I look forward to meeting with you!
