Wacky Science Day!
Today Ms. Davis's third grade class earned a WSD (Wacky Science Day)! In order to do this they have to earn 12 magnifying lenses (which are like points). They did this by treating each other with kindness, completing their work to the best of their ability, cleaning their lab space, using time wisely and following class rules!
As a class they decided they were still really interested in cars and so on WSD they had a chance to build gigantic race tracks . They used everything they knew about balanced and unbalanced forces as well as what they needed to manipulating variables to obtain a desired speed and distance in order to build their track.
They had an amazing time exploring what the've learned about momentum, forces and stopping distances to design some really outstanding tracks! Take a peak:
