Conductors vs. Insulators

This week we examined what materials could be used to complete a circuit. Instead of using wires, we used various materials from around the lab to see if the electrons could still pass through to light a lightbulb.
Materials that don't let electrons pass easily are known as insulators. Some of the insulators we identified are: cloth, plastic, rubber, popsicle sticks and glass.
Materials that do let electrons flow easily are known as conductors. Some of the conductors we identified are: aluminum foil, paper clips, brass fasteners, and binder clips.
