Magic Cereal!

This week we explored with static discharge and cereal! From our previous investigations we know that rubber balloon love to collect loose electrons. We used our understanding of static build up to make a cheerio on a string move and dance. In their notebooks our young scientists discussed how the opposite charges caused the cheerio to attract to the balloon and once they connected all the electrons moved back from the balloon to the cheerio causing their like charges to repel. It was a fun day of science mystery and shocking revelations!
